saturday captivity/freedom

It's my second saturday in a row having woken up at what is suppose to be 'forbidden awake hours' on weekends. Last week's reason was quite justifiable though because it was the national school's literature festival where the upper sec lit students and a couple of lower sec drama kiddos participated in the poetry slam and debates! Was grouped with jia min, vanessa and hnin to form the debate team for where angels fear to tread which in many of the litties' opinions is a devilish text so yes we had a pretty tough time coming up with points but thanks to ms tnee we were pretty prepared and whoooo we ended up winning our debate round (:

Actually we have past experience to thank too for our little victory we were extremely lucky to have spectated the sec threes' romeo & juliet and hear in on judges' expectations of the debaters, scoring rubrics etc; just before we proceeded for our's.

So that was it for lit fest this year! Dr larry yeo was the keynote speaker once again this year and now I'm very much looking forward to a time where I can sit down and watch dead poets society because he quoted quite a lot from the movie in his slides heh.

The school week passed by pretty quickly and there wasn't much that happened which is worth mentioning here although I would like to make a special mention once again to my classmates who are really the loveliest bunch of people ever hehe they're just so ridiculously fun loving and accepting there isn't much to hate.

& thank you to JIA MIN *throws confetti* for getting me the ADVENTURE TIME ENCYCLOPEDIA *screams and cries* as a really amazing belated birthday gift!!

Headed back to school today from 8am-12pm for a session of prep board mounting which didn't really end up to be prep board mounting at all ): okay I will hate to admit it but my boards are really far from being completed so I shouldn't complain because mr tan was really gracious and let it slide (that I'm such an incompetent student). Spent the free time to do a mishmash of random sketching before whee we were finally released.

Met up with the boyfriend and took a rather empty and rather nice train ride down to jurong point. Bought our tickets for how to train your dragon 2 before we went maniac window shopping and lunch scouting. We try to be healthy and atas as often as we can but all the cafes and restaurants have menu item tags yelling NOPE in our faces so......we ended up at wendy's. Before you say anything, the meal was great. Guilt level is only 7.5/10.

How to train you dragon was such a great movie/sequel -inserts endless amount of exclamation marks- and I will admit I teared at the very very sad part. Shall just generalise and assume that you will know which scene I'm talking about and not spoil the movie by giving explicit details. Yay!

Go watch the movie. Now.

Post-movie was spent at kiddy palace which is such an insane place just because there were these beyblade packages on sale from $8 reduced from $49. No I didn't buy it I don't know why nooooo. And yes we spent a lot of time playing with the baby toys and I dropped quite a bit of stuff on the floor.

The bus ride back home is pretty long so towards to end, as a little perk up I introduced chongray to this word game I used to play with my mum as a kid! Basically we just choose a random alphabet and from there, we alternate saying words that begin with that alphabet. The letter of today's game was C and we went on for about five minutes. Does that mean we're intellectual people now? :D
