Matching Flannel

Chongray and I have been together for 26 months now and I know it seems quite childish to count our relationship by months or celebrate 'monthsaries' but setting aside at least the 6th of every month to go out some place extra special/spend some schedule undisturbed time together makes sure we don't get too caught up with our individual workloads amongst other things. (:

For the month of september we headed down to gardens by the bay!

We took 106 down from clementi to marina bay sands before having to cross an overhead bridge to the gardens. We walked around aimlessly around the open gardens for a bit before cr got hungry so we tried finding food places but we got lost. Tried finding the ticketing area instead but ended up having to to ask for directions too hahaha we are hopeless.

After much wandering we managed to get our tickets ($6 off in discounts whee thanks mum for the passion card) and some texas chicken in our bellies so we headed for the domes. We tried to flip a coin to decipher which dome to visit first but apparently we aren't on agreeable terms on which side of the coin is which so we just ended up going to the cloud forest first!

I don't know if my narration of sequence of events will be a spoiler to those who haven't been there but here it goes anyway: WE WERE GREETED BY A MEGA WATERFALL!!

Alright that definitely isn't a spoiler of any sort because it's listed in the info page of their website but it was definitely much greater than either of us had imagined. We expected ourselves to perspire a lot throughout the day but the minute we stepped in we were going on and on about how chilly it was. (side note: chongray and I wore matching outsides of shorts/berms + tank/tee under flannel tops hence the title)

For two teenagers, you could say our excitement level was a little above average considering it was nature we were raving about. I kept dragging him towards different information boards and telling him how a particular flower/branch of leaves looked really cool. I think "uh yes babe I'm literally seeing everything you're seeing" ran through his mind many times over. Oops.

There aren't many pathways for you to explore on the ground level since the main highlight is the 35m tall waterfall that consists of 6 levels for you to explore. We took the lift up to the top (that's your only choice) and slowly made our descend along the walkways. I'm guessing most people reached the bottom in 20 minutes but we took about double that time because we are quite nonsensical people who like to do silly things on overhead bridges and we had our cameras with us as well!

> extra information that you probably don't care much about: I have the canon eos 450d while he lugs the canon eos 550d. The original lens that came with my camera have gone a bit haywire so cr brought three lenses for us to share: his samyang fisheye, 50mm and 18-135mm.

By the time we proceeded to the flower dome we were pretty pooped but the succulents got me all excited once again! They are such adorable looking little fat leaf plants although chongray told me to stop saying that aloud because apparently they can hear me. It's a compliment. Anywho, the floral display theme as of present is orchids so yes many many weird and wonderfully intricate floral living things everywhere!

This dome had less photo opportunities for us so we spent more time sitting around and taking photos of...ourselves. Although we've been together for a considerable long time we have almost no photos of us together taken with a dslr so today we managed to top up in that area yay (:

My stomach empties itself pretty quickly so we went for dinner after we were quite certain we had fully surveyed the entire place - including the little running track surrounding the area. Headed to the mbs shoppes food court, experienced about 10 minutes of semi-grumpy fumbling around finding seats, ended up with $10.90 bak kut teh and $3.50 honey lemon.

We window shopped around for a little before taking 106 back to clementi.

"Wouldn't it be nice if we were heading back to our own home together right now?"

reasons why he's a keeper. (:
