To round up the happenings of the september holidays was the combined cellgroup event held at sentosa earlier on today!
We usually have these once a year and even though it's the crazy prelims season now, it's these days and events that you remember and reminisce about in the future so I decided to leave my books aside for these few hours.
Was meant to wake up at 7:30 this morning but I overslept and only woke up after chongray's fifth call. I am horrible. Thankfully we weren't late and managed to spend some time talking to the other cell mates before the main highlight of the event began.
Each cellgroup was split into 9 groups and shuffled around so that each group would have a fair mixture of mustard seed people and then from there we started the amazing race! Chongray and I were grouped with gabriel, chloe, xin ran and teresa all of whom were really nice and pretty enthusiastic hehe. Our route started at giant supermarket and later on we teleported to sentosa (apparently now also known as the state of fun).
Our challenges were all pretty fun and they varied from buying two or more items to hit an exact amount of $2.20, counting the number of blue and white striped candy on the candylicious trees, finding ice cream sticks and lastly catching gummy bears that were being dropped from about 10m above.
We didn't set any expectations for ourselves and were actually looking forward to getting last place but in the end we faired pretty well and managed to clinch 7th whee. There were delays with regards to the food delivery so we had about an hour's time to play games and what not. Chongray, myself and the cell girls were quite pooped out so we moved to a sheltered area nearby and while cr dug a hole in the sand we played a sand version of jenga which was pretty exciting. A peacock couple made an appearance too so I went to stalk them for a bit as they ate flowers and trekked across the sand. They are indeed beautiful creatures and if I ever become wealthy enough to own them and be able to provide the care and land they need, I would.
The committee had gotten everybody solero split/potong coconut ice cream and canadian pizza so we had quite a picnic at the pavilion! Had a nice time just sitting around with el olam eating and talking about some pretty weird stuff. (: thank you guys for always brightening my weekends up
After the event rounded up we took the crammy tram ride to the monorail station where we headed back to vivo. Chongray and I said bye to the rest and headed to walk around the mall since it's been a long time since we were last there hehe. The entire area opposite pet safari has been converted to a huge timezome arcade so we decided to go check it out and we discovered they have four mario kart machines! Since the boyfriend has never played the game before I thought it'd be appropriate for us to play it in true blue arcade style.
The machines were taken for quite a while so we headed to the pet shop (where we spotted an adorable corgi getting groomed) and daiso before going back to the hopefully vacant machines. In the end my princess peach/yoshi only came in 2nd TWICE while his mario/festival can thingy came in 1st ):< I only lost by a few millisconds )':
On another note we bumped into ms madeline lim who hilariously said "eh hello! wait what are you doing here ah!" yes I am guilty of not studying when I really should.
Spent the rest of our time there at toys R us where we went a bit crazy organising and spazzing over the toys while also discussing what our kids will and will not have in the future.
Here's to the end of what was a tiring yet rather fulfilling week of 'rest'.
/cheers/
