The rather quaint (when we arrived) vintage-styled cafe is a 10 minute walk away from our place at Lorong Kilat but we decided to take a quick drive down. I've heard of it a couple of times and their pastries float in the house once in a while but being there for a proper sit-down meal is different. The place is adorned with rusty cabinets, retro type writers and books as well as hanging pompoms/wooden clogs. Indie music keeps whatever silence at bay.
Food-wise, the sandwiches and pastries are a little pricey for students but they definitely fill your tummy if that's a concern of your's. I had The Picnic Sandwich ($8) which is a classy tea version of a big mac. It has good ol ham and garden veggie tucked between three layers of light and fluffy yet flavourful bread. For morning drinks, a pot of English Breakfast ($5) served with the prettiest tea cup and saucer. Overall, nice and delightful food, especially for those who favour pastry-esque stuff.
Brother and sister wanted to drop by Necessary Provisions at Eng Kong for some drinks but the place was packed so they got some coffee to go and the family took a short walk around the estate. Forced my brother to go to the swingset with me, the one that I see whenever I take 173 home, and mind you he's a 28 lawyer with a plastic cup of coffee in his hands. There was this India guy belting out tunes at a bench nearby and he was in tune, like everything else this morning.
Headed to meet the boyfriend at clementi before taking a train down to vivo. We had a nice lunch at Carl's Junior and walked around for about an hour or so before catching Transcendence! Spoiler alert: it isn't that great. Walked around at the vivomart after it ended and felt like those old working couples once again (: felt nice to go out on a proper date in sucha long while hehe
I shall remember that all this hard work and suffering that I'm going through for the next few months are not going to be in vain and there will be many more days like this when the atrocious Os are over.
