It was ridiculously fun at some parts although i'll admit there were many less pleasent instances but it's part of parcel of camps and well life in general, no?
Day One
Was reading tweets from batchmates about camp before heading to school and it kinda bummed me out that they were all sorta dreading it. I was super hyped about it about a week ago but suddenly everyone was so moody and i really didn't know what to expect. Got my period the morning camp started. Suay until cannot say anything already.
I like long bus rides. I'm also quite stupid and blur so after the immigration at the malaysia side i kept my entertainment in my backpack and dumped it in the trunk. Sarah was my lifesaver and we 'shared music' yay!
The camp site at tanjung sutera is really beautiful. I went online to search up on the resort and it got really good reviews hahaha although we stayed in tents...on the field. Spent a while pitching our tents because for some reason, it doesn't rain there very often and the soil was in shit condition and we couldn't get the pegs in >:(
Had our lunch before we headed for our first camp activity which was improvised raft building! We were the awkward class that was alone because there are 7 classes so we didn't have a class to pair with. Learnt a couple of basic knots before we started and it ended up being pretty fun (: headed for our water obstacles next whee.
There were three courses? to choose from. I was really really praying i wouldn't fall into the pond because it was really dirty and i was having my time of the month. Ended up going for the 'toughest' course because i doubt i'll really get the chance to do this again - definitely not with D1 - so yeah attempted it! Everyone who tried fell in (including ms ee hehe) except zhiyuan! Ridiculous i don't know how he did it. It was nice to have people cheer me on (': you guys are awesome.
It was around evening time when we headed for the natural cliff abseil. We got the view of the south china sea, the beach and the setting sun. The wind was really strong and everyone was really chill. Didn't manage to do it because we ran out of time ): spent my time talking to the different people, the guys, ms ee and ms li (:
Had a quick campfire prep before we set off for our night blind man's trail! I think i was drowsy from my meds and during the walk i was hallucinating and at some points i was like 'moley crap i'm going to fall off a cliff i can't move my legs'. It lasted for a while then we finally got to remove our blindfolds. The instructor started talking to us about life and then we stargazed for a while *.* there are really no words to describe how flippping mesmerized i was. It was such a beautiful sight. Constantly reminded of the beauty of God's creation.
Instructor mario brought us for debrief by the sea at this empty space. Sort of like a cliff because well, it wasn't fenced up and if you fell off you would fall into the forest and land by the beach. Ate our buns for supper whaahuh then headed to sleep.
Day Two
Woke up at 0530 to shower. Bloody hell i won't even wake up that early to shower on a normal school day. Had to wait a while before i got to wash up but rawgh felt so good after that! Headed for light morning stretching before having to take a shit. Annnnnd then it was breakfast (:
Next up was our coastel trek :D to temala beach. I am telling you that we got the best timings to do each activity, extremely thankful heh. The trek took about four hours and we travelled 6km. Had good trekking buddies hehe all super retarded and ridiculous people (: much love. The beach and jungle was ahmazing! Collected a couple of seashells yay pretty.
Had lunch before we did campfire prep again! It was majorly frustrating because everyone had such different ideas and so many people were upset and had such strong opinions ): was just looking forward to the village visit after that! The house we visited was a short walk away and we sat in the nice auntie's porch and we asked questions about her life and all that (: she had a beautiful kitty too!
Walked to the jetty nearby after that and managed to have a nice chat with classmates again while taking in what the village looked like - the houses, stores, how they travelled (: headed back to our campsite for our outdoor cooking session which was really quick! Remembered of doing it during sports leaders' camp on gunung panti mountain heh.
Had free time till dinner which we served! I served ze watermelons hehe. Then it was time for our campfire! (: so glad that somehow the class got it together and did a rather successful performance! Other than that i really enjoyed myself and i'm sure everyone else did too (: after that ended we had loads of free time but spent it slacking around and then sleeping earlier too d:
Day Three
Woke up at 0530 again to shower! Wanted to die because there was a huge ass millipede in my cubicle and although i'm not usually freaked out by these things but i just wanted to kill it and throw it into someone else's shower.
Attempted to watch the sun rise at the cliff area with sarah, hnin, lymey, kaiming and gerald (: didn't mange to catch it before we had to gather for breakfast but it was nice just sitting there and watch the sky brighten.
Packed our bags then finally depitched our tents. Had a couple of class games before they announced the best class along with best campers! I always don't understand how they choose the best campers. Not saying that i don't like the best campers but i always feel there's someone more deserving.
Boarded the bus and spent about an hour taking photos with the instructors and doing our reflections before the bus actually started moving d: slept on the bus ride back and then we were finally back in school (: took a couple more photos with the instructors before heading to long john's for a late lunch.
Really glad that everyone enjoyed camp in the end (: everyone went on a crazy twitter rampage that evening and even though now i have unsalvagable leg tan lines, i've learnt that even though my class is filled with annoying retarded people, i'm glad to have them with me.
